Christmas 2015

Looking through my holiday photos reminds me of how blessed I am to have a wonderful family!  My parents, as always, work their magic to turn our childhood home into a Christmas wonderland.  Little details can be found on every shelf and table.  Most importantly, they have created many Christmas traditions that we all love.  Eating a meal all seated at the same table (even if there is an additional temporary table connected to the long dining room table), opening ornaments (for the adult children) and pajamas (for the grandchildren) in the living room around the small tree and then moving to the family room for more gifts around the big tree.  We finish up with a BINGO game (labeled with all the family member names, old and young).  There is lots of eating, drinking and merry making throughout the entire evening.  I know how lucky we are to have ALL of us together at Christmas!!

Corey's Senior Session and Coppes Family Photos

I had the pleasure of taking Corey's Senior pictures about a month ago.  It was a GORGEOUS Fall day (probably a bit chilly for him but perfect for me)!  Corey is a former first grader who has grown up to be a wonderful young man!  I remember Corey as a fun and, sometimes funny, little boy.  He still has a mischievous smile and likes to be silly.  I had so much fun taking his senior photos!!  I also snapped a few family photos as well… and if you scroll through the photos below, you will see that this is a family that like to have fun and laugh!!
It was a delight taking photos with this AWESOME family!!

Miller Farm Harvest Festival 2015

I had no idea there was this beautiful area just outside of Tiffin called Miller Conservation Farm until my friend Beth asked me to take some candid photos at the Harvest Fest this year.  It was a gorgeous fall day with a sunny sky and a cool breeze.  The perfect day to bring your family out for some fun and to learn a bit about conservation.  I saw lots of kids and adults enjoying themselves during the hour I spent taking photographs.  A special thanks to my cousin Joe who drove me around so I could capture a little bit of everything!

Marissa

My niece Marissa is going to be a senior!   I can hardly believe that she is all grown up… how did that happen so fast?  Wasn't it just the other day that my mom and I were taking her and her brother to the lake for summer vacation beach days?  Wasn't it just the other day that she was spending the night and slipping notes and pictures under my bedroom door in the morning?

I wanted her senior pictures to reflect her personality.  I wanted to take her somewhere that was meaningful in her life.

We started at my house (where we had her "little girl" photo sessions) and used books and cameras for props.  She LOVES to read and, of course, loves taking pictures too.  Instead of the cell phone, we used classic cameras that my sister had collected and given to me.  We also used some classic books that she had read.  Finally, we picked up my assistant (my mom) and headed to East Harbor State Park. We spent many summer days enjoying the beach there and it was very nostalgic taking her photos at this location!!  At the very end of our session, we met a couple who had parked their adorable mustard yellow car in the parking lot.  My mom struck up a conversation with them and they offered to let us use the car for some photos.  You can see some of the results below!

It was a magical day…  I hope the photos will always bring back happy memories of this special time for Marissa!  You can see some of my favorites from Marissa's epic summer photo session below.  Of course, there will be more sessions in the Fall and Winter!  When your Aunt is the photographer, you get the Mega Senior package!! :-)
