Nate

My second senior session of the summer took place at an amazing location!  I love shooting photos out on the farm.  There are golden fields of wheat and green corn fields, there is AWESOME farm machinery with all kinds of depth and color, there are long lanes between fields, there are beautiful, old historical houses,  there are HUGE barns with enormously high ceilings… let's face it, it is a photographers playground out there!  So, I was super excited to take Nate's senior pictures on his family's farm!  I've known Nate since first grade (yes, Nate is a former student… I'm so lucky to get to photograph my little first graders when they are all grown up).  He has grown up to be a mature, intelligent and very handsome young man.  We were shooting pictures for over 2 hours and he never got tired or bored (or at least he did a good job of acting like he was having a great time for my benefit… either way, I was impressed with his picture taking stamina!!).

I hope you enjoy looking at some of my favorite shots from his senior session!

Lexi

Wow, I just looked at my previous post and saw the date!  …January was a long time ago!  Well, it's summer break for me and I had my first senior session with a beautiful young lady!!  Her mom and I used to be colleagues many years ago and it's hard to believe she has a daughter who will be a senior next school year!!  Lexi is a lovely, intelligent young lady.  I had so much fun taking her senior photos! We had a bit of trouble with the weather (since it's been raining on and off the whole month of June) but we managed to squeeze in 2 sessions at 2 locations in 2 days!  :-)

The first session was at Garlo Park in Bloomville, Ohio.  I take my first graders here on a field trip and they have a GREAT time learning about nature from an AMAZING teacher (who just happens to run a GREAT nature based pre-school on the site).   We tried to start in the morning but had to reschedule for later in the day when we got about 2 hours of rain free time!!

The second session was downtown Tiffin, Ohio.  Again, we had to jump back in the car to wait out the sprinkles but again, the rain stopped and we were able to get some great shots!!

I love how these 2 locations were completely different and give a totally different feel to Lexi's photos!

Snow Day

It's cold and blustery outside… just the way I like it!  Winter has finally arrived and that means SNOW DAYS!  I've had 2 this week which has allowed me to get caught up on some things… like trying out my new lens, the Nikon 24-70 f2.8!  WOW!  That's just about all I can say, WOW!  This lens is living up to EVERYTHING that I read about it.  That being said, I had a little spontaneous snow day photo shoot with my "go to" model, Mollie (who just happened to be home on break from college).  The sharpness in the images is noticeably different from any of the other lenses I own (even my beloved 85mm prime).  It does GREAT in all lighting situations and even produces a nice image with the flash on (I normally hate all my flash images).

So here are the first images shot with the new lens
